CHAS Bradford

In 1965 CHAS Bradford was founded by volunteers from two Bradford churches. They provided destitute families with furniture by collecting donations from the local community. They also established evening surgeries to give free legal housing advice to prevent illegal evictions.  From a strong desire to help vulnerable people in their own community, and an ever increasing need for the service, CHAS Bradford has grown into what it is today.

Over 60 employees and volunteers work together to provide a first class advice and support services, and to collect, repair and sell donated household goods. Community links are a vital aspect of our work, we continue to have a relationship with the parishes from which CHAS was founded; we also depend on the valuable contributions from our volunteers who still help with collections, repairs, in the shop and staffing the offices.
